Dennis received his B.A. in theater in 1969 and went on to receive an M.A. in drama from the University of Southern California. He currently is professor of theatre and chair at Mt. San Jacinto College. Since 1995 he has served as artistic director of the Ramona Pageant, California's Official State Outdoor Play, which focuses on the struggle of the Native American in 1850s California.
