Professor Hornby is an internationally-recognized expert on dramatic literature and performance. His books include Script into Performance: A Structuralist Approach to Play Production; Drama, Metadrama, and Perception and The End of Acting. He has been a professional actor for 40 years, and has directed over 50 productions. He is also the regular theatre critic for The Hudson Review.
